Viniita Susan Hutchinson, RMT

Susan is a Registered Massage Therapist (RMT), with a centrally located practice in Kitchener-Waterloo.

Her private practice includes Massage Therapy, Acupuncture and CranioSacral Therapy (an Osteopathy-based technique), with each treatment tailored to the particular needs of her client.

She has been a full-time practicing RMT for over 25 years and treats a wide variety of conditions and age groups.

Professional Certification

In addition to being a qualified RMT registered with the College of Massage Therapists of Ontario, Susan is an active member of the Registered Massage Therapists' Association of Ontario (RMTAO). She received Acupuncture certification from the The College of Acupuncture & Therapeutics, and completed McMaster University Contemporary Medical Acupuncture Program: Contemporary Medical Acupuncture for Health Professionals. She trained in CranioSacral Therapy with The Upledger Institute.

Previous Experience and Interests

Prior to her career as an RMT, Susan taught meditation and yoga for ten years (Viniita is a meditation name acquired at that time), and explored north american indigenous healing practices. She is also grounded in the practice of Taichi, and is an avid canoe-tripper.

Susan's Approach to the Therapies She Offers

The treatment room is an airy, light-filled space that offers a sense of quiet serenity.

After you share your health concerns and treatment needs, I will let you know which of my services might best suit your needs and comfort levels.

During treatment, you will always be appropriately draped and will be encouraged to offer feedback about the massage . . . if you want me to lighten up or use more pressure, just let me know; I will not work outside of your comfort zone.

You can choose some relaxation music or simply enjoy the tranquil sound of a water fountain that burbles in the background.

If you are interested, I can show you muscle charts and anatomy texts that illustrate which of your muscles are giving you grief, and I may show you some helpful exercises that you can do on your own.

Pre-appointment Conversation

Due to the personal nature of massage therapy, many people find it reassuring to connect over the phone before their first appointment. I am happy to discuss your needs and concerns with you. Please e-mail or telephone me to set up a time that is convenient for you: E-mail,or by Telephone: 519-571-7511.
